The most common form is obstructive sleep aepnea, which occurs when the throat muscles relax and close the airway. Snoring is very common and breathing starts and stops throughout the night while sleeping. It's more common in older adults and in overweight people.
Signs and symptoms include excessive daytime sleepiness, loud snoring, observed episodes of breathing cessation during sleep, abrupt awakenings accompanied by shortness of breath, dry mouth or sore throat in the morning along with a headache, frequent urination at night, difficulty staying asleep.

M$That's sort of a personal experience, isn't it. Snoring is in my top ten list of worst kinds of sleeping disorders! But there is another one. I think it's called "sleep apnea". A person snores, then stops breathing for quite a while and then starts snoring again. This must be the worst as one can't sleep oneself thinking: "Will he/she breathe ever again?"
The best thing to do is speak to a medical professional about this as snoring or any other sleeping disorder is potentially unhealthy, because one doesn't breathe properly. It may also be a psychological issue for a partner who sleeps next to you and if that is the case then there are two people who wake up in the morning not having had a good rest and feel accordingly.
I found a very good book about snoring and sleep apnea on Amazon, please click on this link:
