Tip for best answer: M$0.75
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Adults need at least eight hours of sleep a night for good health. Infants typically sleep at least 16 hours a day. Most preschoolers need at least 11 hours of sleep a night, and most school-age children need at least 10 hours sleep. NASA recommendations that astronauts sleep 8 hours a day when in space.

According to researchers, more than 8 hours sleep each night is bad for you. We have all known that too little sleep is bad for you.

I normally tend to get between five and six hours sleep a night. I was under the impression that this suited me fine that is until I started to do a little research into lack of sleep and its effects.

I was most surprised to find that my newly diagnosed High blood pressure, my weight gain and joint problems can all be caused by lack of sleep.

It is considered that a person getting between only five and six hours a night is not getting enough sleep to maintain optimum health.

The ideal amount of sleep according to all the sources that I have read and to which I am now going to try and ensure for myself is seven hours sleep per night.

So in answer to your question it seems that my ideal number of hours sleep is seven in order to improve my health and wellbeing.
