What are the illnesses that can be treated with hypnotherapy?

I have read a few articles about hypnosis and how it can help cure some diseases. These are not for everyone though for there are those who are good hypnotherapy candidates like those who are is responsive to hypnotic induction method, those clients who can relate positively to the therapist, and motivation of an individual. What are some problems or ailments that can be eased using hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis helps less with diseases than it does with habits and personal issues. Most people see a hypnotherapist for help with quitting smoking, weight loss, nail biting, and even laziness. These small things can be completely changed by hypnotism for many people, and, although no one really knows why, it's probably due to the issues being psychological.

Although hypnosis can't cure ailments such as cancer, arthritis or many other physical health issues, it's a good treatment for things like depression and anxiety. Surprising enough, however, hypnosis CAN help with some physical problems such as irritable bowel syndrome. Since this illness is highly related to stress most of the time, the hypnotherapist can help you with that, and in turn, the physical issue. Another example of this is sleep disorders. Hypnosis can help with the stress that may be causing your insomnia or sleep apnea, and at the same time your disorders may go away. You can think of it like this: hypnosis cures mental blocks as well as helps with certain mental illnesses, and in doing that, it also cures some of the physical *symptoms* that go along with it.

I've never been hypnotized, but I really believe it would be at least helpful with certain problems, if not the end-all be-all. Hope this helps!
