How can a stressed person have a good sleep without medications?
I do not like taking drugs to help me sleep. I prefer lying awake and waiting for the sleep to catch up with me or just count from one to whatever number I get to before I sleep. Sometimes I do some aerobics at night, so that my body would bet weak and then I would be able to fall sleep. All this methods work but they take about thirty minutes to an hour before I finally nod off. Is there any non-medication method that can work faster?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Well, i am no professional, I suffer from minor insomnia, so I do have some experience with methods of falling asleep. Also, like you, I don't like taking drugs to help me fall asleep.
Personally, I use breathing exercises while I am falling asleep. What I do, is lay down on my back, hands either folded on my stomach or on my sides. I take deep even breathes while concentrating on relaxing my muscles starting with my toes, working my way up to my head. I may do this one or two times. Usually I can fall asleep within minutes after this.
I have also looked into hypnotherapy, using prerecorded audio sounds(like recordings of water, or the wind, animals, etc.), or a recording of a hypnotherapist basically saying 'you are getting very sleepy'. It works quite well, you just cant have any interruptions, or you have to start all over.
You can try warm milk before heading to bed as well. I haven't tried it myself, but I have read it can have amazing effects for helping with sleeping problems, but it doesn't help everybody.
There are drinks out there called 'anti-energy' drinks. They generally contain melatonin, rose hips, and Valerian root. Ones I have tried are 'Drank' and 'Purple Stuff'.
I have tried doing exercises before bed, but it tends to keep me up more, probably because of adrenaline pumping from exercising.
