How can a parent find out if a child is being sedated by the nanny or at the day care center?
Few weeks back, while I was at the pharmacy, I overheard a woman complaining that anytime she goes to pick up her 4year old toddler from the day care center, she always finds her asleep. She said she didn’t give it a thought until her daughter told her that the kindergarten teacher usually gives them a glass of orange juice to drink. I don’t know if the woman’s suspicion was confirmed, but it prompted this question; do you think a parent can ever detect if their child or children are been giving sleeping drugs by a nanny or care giver?

What a scary thought, a child being sedated at a daycare center, wow! Reading this made my heart stop for a moment in disgust. I had stayed home with my kids their entire life and I did childcare in my home for close friends while my kids were younger. Just because of all the horror stories, and talk about kids being hit or abused in daycare centers. If I was in this ladies shoes, I would bring my child to the doctor to see if their was a urine test or blood test to detect sedatives in the system.
I am glad you asked this question, I have never dreamed of daycare centers doing this. Hopefully just one person reads this that has wondered why their child was always sleeping when they get picked up! You can never be too careful.
